The American singer-songwriter released his first studio album back in 2001. ‘Josh Groban’ was wildly successful, going from gold to multi-platinum status in the next year. He has since released 11 albums, selling over 22 million in the States alone, made several TV appearances, and scored top of the Billboard 200 Chart three times.
Groban did not always intend to be the superstar he is today, originally set to attend college to study musical theatre. Within a short space of time, Groban had appeared on popular TV shows Rosie O’Donnell and Ally McBeal and signed a deal with Warner Bros. Records. His career quickly escalated to producing the soundtrack to Spielberg’s ‘A.I. Artificial Intelligence’ and notable live performances and collaborations, singing alongside stars such as Sarah Brightman, Charlotte Church and Lara Fabian.
The huge success incurred in Groban’s years in entertainment is arguably down to his song writing talent and outstanding vocals. His unique sound tore into classical, rock and pop scenes, which he tributes to artists who inspired him to spread across musical genres rather than confining himself to only one. Some of his most popular tracks to date are ‘You Raise Me Up’ (2003), ‘All I Ask of You’ (2015) performed with Kelly Clarkson, and ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ (2016).
